The pastry is close to perfection. Fine soft shortcrust with only the crunchy crust lip providing a bit of solitary resistance. The pie is served a touch lukewarm unfortunately, the absence of a foil tray not helping. Inside there is a standard healthy sloppy potato based mash with morsels of mince coming at me with aplomb, giving a lovely wet sensation in the mouth
