Michael Hart & Son Venison and Burgundy Pie

Michael Hart & Son Venison and Burgundy Pie
I’m served by a cheerful chap with a large moustache who comments about the awful weather. The pastry is superb: split into several layers, crispy on the outside gradually getting softer with an appetising glaze. It’s not quite packed to the brim but plenty of large, high quality chunks of meat. In truth, I have probably have had venison before, I just can’t remember. It is just steak under another name, I’m glad I ate this when I got home rather than wolfing it down there and then in the shop as it could have quite possibly sent me over the driving limit given the abundance of red wine coming through.
