I eventually find Chatwins next to the Northwich Victoria club shop only for them to tell me they have no pies left but come back in five minutes. The second time I walk into Chatwins they still don’t have any pies out but when I ask, the other woman behind the counter recognises me and says “ooh we’ve got one in the oven warming ready for this gentleman”. Now that’s service! It is a big round plate pie raised in the middle. Very fluffy creamy potato mash filling complimented with very, I mean very light pink chunks of beef. Is it beef or ham/pork/mutton?
