Parkside Farm Shop Minted Lamb Hot Pot Pie
17 September 2013
An intriguing effort, which is almost wholly meat, with a handful of peas and a tiny bit of potato spilling out. After 25 minutes in the oven, it's supremely crisp but not too hard and has a very uneven, homemade shape to it. There is no discernible smell but upon cutting it in half, smoke comes billowing out of the pie like a steam engine. It’s not minced lamb it's minted lamb, as evidenced by huge swathes of stringy braised lamb meat in there. I can't deny that I was more enticed by the hot pot element than the minted lamb as I like my food spicy but this nevertheless hits the mark without being overly minty
