Mettrick's Steak and Potato Pie
20 December 2012
It's a lovely well defined pie that you want to give a hug but dabbling on dangerous ground by failing to insulate it's cavernous loft with meat, The pastry is thick, lofty and crisp, the interior pie roof resembles a big meaty cave. The first bite reveals a huge chunk of tough juicy braised steak and a singular large slab of potato with enough gravy to give it a liquid feel in the mouth. It has a rich, meaty flavour as you'd expect complimented by moist, but not too runny gravy
