You CAN judge a book by it's cover
· admin
Yes, you can; because sometimes it's perfectly self explanatory. I've spent several weeks poring over the various ideas, thoughts and combinations before getting to this stage and it's safe to say that I'm delighted with the outcome.
There were funnier ideas and indeed more obscure or abstract ones but ultimately this cover reflects the nature of the mission down to a tee and spells out exactly what it does on the tin.
We all live in a land of pies and my mission was to seek them out, eat them and rank them on the basis of a number of factors whilst trying to avoid mishaps as I go.
What's not to like about travelling this fine country of ours in search of the nation's finest pastry products?
Then there's that nervous moment where you stand in front of a counter and have milliseconds to decipher the flavours, options and prices
We had other options including a smiley pie face, a New Order style coloured pie montage and some more traditional bakery shop fronts, plus the infamous measuring callipers but I feel that this is the cover that I will be excited to be putting on the book shelves in the next few months.
I just need to work out which one of the 400 pies I consumed is actually the one featured on the front cover now......
PS The above is a Pieminster Shamrock Pie
